A Compilation Of Things Loved And Lost

It’s so strange feeling like you’re on the edge of something. Sand behind, ocean in front. You can feel the sea licking your toes, taste salt in your mouth, smell the boundary of the world. But, when you open your eyes all you see is darkness. When you turn around the cliffs, the trees, the sand all begin to fade. You have to chose which direction, you must swim or sprint. The basic components of our earth, sand and water. We must always chose between them, to be hard or soft, terrifying or safe, to believe in faith or what you can see.
No one has ever been lost out to sea to return, we can not survive on our own in the atlantic or pacific. We always need something to hold on to, to keep us from drowning. But, it is human compulsion to become lost and never be found. Always desiring what only half of us wants. Listening to a song that makes you feel compassion and beauty, when all you really want is renewal. Stuck in your past, moment to moment fleeting by. Needing, hoping you can just trip forward a few, diminutive minutes. To think and believe so strongly that earth becomes air and air becomes water. To know that you can grab each second and put it in your pocket. That you can keep the trees from fading and the sand from getting smaller, and the earth from disappearing completely.
